The Prescription Optimization Program (POP) is designed to assist THT members with obtaining critical medications that they may normally have trouble affording. Beginning October 1, 2021 all medications over $1,000.00 will require a prior authorization from CerpassRx and routed through the POP team. A generic drug is a pharmaceutical drug that is equivalent to a brand-name product in dosage form, strength, route of administration, quality, performance, and intended use. A generic drug must meet the same quality and safety standards that brand drugs have.
